What Shahid Afridi used to gift Harbhajan Singh?

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has revealed that he has always shared friendly relationships with most Pakistani cricketers. The Indo-Pak rivalry, although brings heated arguments among the fans across borders, the cricketers of the two sides share friendly relations off the field between them with each other.

It is not only limited to friendships, but Harbhajan has revealed that Pakistan’s iconic cricketer Shahid Afridi used to bring gifts for him from Pakistan. The gift items included Punjabi drama CDs and much-loved Peshawari Slippers.

Harbhajan says he used to be friends with many Pakistani cricketers, including Afridi, current head coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Saqlain Mushtaq, and others. While talking ahead of the Asia Cup 2022, the cricketer-turned-expert narrated,

“A lot of Pakistani players were very good friends of mine. Shahid Afridi used to bring a lot of gifts for me from Pakistan. Lala gifted me CDs of Pakistan’s Punjabi dramas and Peshawari Chappal. I spent a very good time with these cricketers,”

Visibly, he shares a special bond with former Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar. Both are often engaged in fun banters on social media. Last time, Akhtar was seen trolling his Indian friend for losing his claim regarding Ind vs Pak T20 World Cup 2021 match. The men in green thrashed away India by ten wickets.

Harbhajan had advised Pakistan not to play versus India and accept the defeat following Pakistan’s poor winning history in World Cups against India. However, following Virat Kohli and co’s fall in Ind vs Pak T20 World Cup 2021, it became the most embarrassing defeat ever for India in a cricket match.
