The IPL 2021 has finally been canceled giving a sense of peace to those demanding citizens and people who stood with the dying and suffering communities of India amidst the COVID-19.
The health situation in India has been so alarming for the last few months as the COVID-19 cases cross more than a million. People subjugated to demand Cancel IPL as is it also became the trend on Twitter.
Although the BCCI said that no game will be rescheduled after RCB vs KKR was rescheduled amidst the COVID-19 cases but it was a sudden and unexpected call on Tuesday morning as BCCI suspended IPL indefinitely.
When will IPL 2021 resume now?
The majority are happy with the BCCI for taking a ‘sensible decision’ and appreciates it whereas, a few demand to resume IPL 2021 as soon as possible.
BCCI, itself, never wanted to cancel the IPL but the social criticism vastly let it do. It now hunts for the clear window to commence the world’s cash-rich league once again. It is speculated that the Indian cricket board is mulling September’s window to organize the league.
One of the franchise’s official added,
“A September window is being considered. By then the England-India series would be over and the foreign player would be ready for the T20 World Cup. That small window is being explored,”
Brijesh Patel, the IPL chairman added,
“Now we have to look for a window. If we get one, we will explore holding it. We’ll have to see if it is possible in September. We need to examine the plans of the ICC and other boards.”Advertisement
Notably, BCCI will try to wind up the remaining 31 matches before October as the cricket-loving country is set to host the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 then. The venues, seeking India’s poor health circumstances, might be reconsidered by the authorities.
