Many international cricket players are preferring to play the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the fourteenth edition of the world’s cash-rich league is to begin by 9th April.
The above-written statement looks sensible – who does not want to clinch an opportunity in the world’s best cricket dominating league? But it looks senseless when one adds that the world’s biggest cricket players are willing to play IPL leaving their national commitments behind.
No big names in SA squads vs Pakistan:
Rather than being present for their country at first, a few players have chosen to play IPL instead. As South Africa Cricket Board (CSA) named squads for a three-match ODI and a four-match T20I series, many big players are missing out.
Dale Steyn, the Proteas bowler raised the issue on Twitter asking “Why our big dogs are not playing” despite knowing the answer that they will be serving IPL.
England’s coach will also be joining one of the franchises. As Eoin Morgan is rested being out of the ODI series, the English captain will also be proceeded to IPL camp directly after missing Ind vs Eng ODI.
Why big players are preferring IPL over their country’s cricket?
Along with it, Shakib Al Hasan, a well-known Bangladeshi cricketer, prefers to play IPL despite BCB’s prior announcement that no Bangal’s player will be available amidst the national duties.
Mustafizur Rehman and Shakib, as per their preferences, have been granted NOC to take part in the league. People say that IPL is destroying the essence of International cricket dragging players towards rewards and killing their dedication towards patriotism.
