Why Mohammad Irfan's over was suspended by Aleem Dar?

The renowned cricket umpire Aleem Dar suspended pacer Mohammad Irfan’s over following his consecutive deadly no-balls during Friday’s Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2022).

Aleem Dar suspended Mohammad Irfan’s over during QG vs MS

Gladiators’ Irfan, who was set to be in action for PSL two days ago, delivered two back-to-back brutal deliveries to Mohammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossow.

He dispatched five deliveries in his last over including two no-balls but Aleem chose to terminate his over. The QG on-field players made a crew around the umpire but he stuck with his decision with no excuse entertained.

Iftikhar Ahmed, who earlier played for Islamabad United, replaced Irfan to complete the spell.

It must be noted Multan handed over a massive defeat to Gladiators further diminishing their NRR. Sarfaraz Ahmed’s team is fifth on the HBL PSL 2022 points table with six points coming from four victories out of eight games.

Despite all odds, the Purple Force can still make it to the playoffs with some ifs and buts. Despite their poor NRR making it hard for them, QG’s win versus Karachi Kings in their next match alongside Islamabad United’s defeat versus Lahore Qalandars on Saturday evening can somehow polish their chances for PSL 7 playoffs.

It must be noted Sultans became the first to qualify for the season’s playoff, whereas their massive victory versus Gladiators on Friday propelled Peshawar Zalmi and Qalandars in the playoffs. The fourth spot is now eyed by Gladiators and United.
