World Cup 2022 stars to play maiden ILT20 edition

The maiden edition of the UAE’s International League T20 (ILT20) is all set to feature world-class cricketers, including the stars from the recently-concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

The ILT20 is all set to begin on January 6th, and many of the top performers of the World Cup 2022 will be seen donning jerseys of various teams. For example, England’s Alex Hales, the second-highest run-getter from his team, is ready to wear a Desert Vipers jersey in the first-ever ILT20.

Hales’ mates, Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, and Chris Woakes, are anticipating being part of the cash-rich league. Where Jordan is hired by Gulf Giants, the rest of the three will be seen in action for Sharjah Warriors.

Apart from England, New Zealand’s speedster Trent Boult is gearing up to wear MI Emirates kit in the first edition of ILT20. All these players played crucial roles throughout the World Cup 2022 to bring their teams to the climax.

Moreover, Afghanistan’s all-rounding delight, Mohammad Nabi, is all set to represent Sharjah Warriors. He will be joined by his counterparts Naven ul Haq and Rahmanullah Gurbaz on the Warriors’ side.

As far as more players from Afghanistan are concerned, Fazal Haq Farooqi & Najibullah Zadran will be playing for the MI Emirates, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman & Hazratullah Zazai will showcase their talent for the Dubai Capitals.

Netherland’s all-rounder Bas de Leeder will be another contestant in Mumbai Indians-based MI Emirates. However, his mates Frederick Klaassen and Brandon Glover will be seen in the Dubai Capitals and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders sides, respectively.

The ILT20 2023 will also see multiple Caribbean players who participated in the World Cup 2022. Akeal Hosein and Raymon Reifer will play for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. Rovman Powell, Evin Lewis, Sheldon Cottrell and Nicholas Pooran are cheering up for Dubai Capitals, Sharjah Warriors, Desert Vipers and MI Emirates, sequentially.

Many players from Sri Lanka’s World Cup 2022 squad are also all set to don various teams’ jerseys in the ILT20. The names are  Dushmantha Chameera, Sri Lankan Captain Dasun Shanaka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa for the Dubai Capitals. In contrast, Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka will take part for Desert Vipers and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, respectively.

The first edition of ILT20 will also witness players from Zimbabwe, Namibia, Ireland, and Scotland. Dubai Capitals team also includes Zimbabwe’s  Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza. While Namibia’s  Jonathan Smit, Ruben Trumpelmann, and David Wiese are ready for Sharjah Wariors, Desert Vipers, and Gulf Giants respectively.

In addition, Irish player Paul Stirling will be rendering his all-rounding skills for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, meanwhile, the Scottish players include George Munsey for Dubai Capitals and Brad Wheal for MI Emirates.
