Mohammad Hurraira, representing Northern, emerged as the top run-scorer in last year’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, amassing an impressive 1024 runs in 11 matches at an exceptional average of 73.14. His outstanding performance has undoubtedly caught the selectors’ eye, making him a strong contender for the Test squad.

Similarly, Omair Bin Yousuf, who represented Sindh, showcased his prowess by scoring 644 runs in 10 matches, maintaining an average of 46. This consistent performance has elevated his chances of making it into the Test team for the Sri Lanka tour.

Another player expected to earn his first Test call-up is all-rounder Aamir Jamal, further emphasizing the team’s focus on injecting fresh talent into the squad.

Sources also indicate that veteran wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed and pace bowler Hassan Ali will retain their places in the squad, thanks to their valuable contributions in previous matches.

However, the players likely to face exclusion from the upcoming tour are Mir Hamza, Zahid Mahmood, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. The selection committee, along with the team management, under the supervision of Mickey Arthur, has been diligently monitoring players’ performances in specialized training camps held online.

Fans can anticipate the official announcement of the Test squad for the Sri Lanka tour within the next two days. In preparation for the tour, a training camp is set to be established in Karachi during the first week of July, providing the players with an ideal environment to fine-tune their skills.

The Sri Lanka Test tour is scheduled to commence with the first Test match on July 16th, followed by the second Test match from July 24th to 28th. Excitement is building as these young talents get ready to embark on their Test cricket journey, representing their country on the international stage.
