Zalmi to suffer huge blows versus Kings tonight

The third position holders on the HBL PSL 2021 points table, Peshawar Zalmi are to contest Karachi Kings in tonight’s encounter at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Zalmi are going pretty fine having an edge in four out of eight games played yet but they might be dull-confident on bidding farewell three of their star players.

Notably, South Africa’s David Miller, Fabian Allen, and Fidel Edwards will be heading to the Caribbean today to participate in the Proteas series versus West Indies shortly. The two teams will rival in a five-match T20I series to commence from 26th June.

Notably, Allen has featured in the last three games of Zalmi for the ongoing season. He was yet to impress the watchers with his all-rounding tactics but the call upon him for the national duties could let him pick 3 wickets conceding 83 runs and scoring only 3 runs with the bat. Edwards was yet to get a game.

Miller, a powerful hitter, has crucially participated for the Wahab-led side in the second phase. Notably, he refrained from the first phase of the league and has actively participated in the three coiled-up encounters of the Abu Dhabi leg.

Zalmi will yearn for Miller’s presence in the mid-order. Although they have Rovman Powell, Shoaib Malik, and Sherfane Rutherford but Miller, a left-handed aggressive batter with a penchant for clearing the boundaries, has a different type of class in the shorter formats.

On the other hand, Kings, who are endeavoring the fourth position on the HBL PSL points table, might be a bit aloof seeing Zalmi’s players’ departure that can impart them some reliance ahead of tonight’s jubilation.

Here are the squads for the two teams:

Karachi Kings: Babar Azam, Martin Guptill, Najibullah Zardan, Mohammad Haris, Imad Wasim, Aamer Yamin, Sharjeel Khan, Zeeshan Malik, Danish Aziz, Qasim Akram, Thisara Parera, Chadwick Walton, Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Arshad Iqbal, Mohammad Ilyas, Noor Ahmed, Waqas Maqsood
