ECB investigates leaked video of Joe Root, James Anderson

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has launched an investigation after a post-Ashes drinking session at England’s team hotel bar in Hobart. The video portrayed England’s skipper, Joe Root and the team’s pacer, James Anderson, alongside three Australian cricketers, Nathan Lyon, Alex Carey, and Travis Head.

The matter involved police who sent back the players to their beds as someone from the hotel complained about the noises. A few among the players were yet in their white jerseys following the late-night conclusion of the Ashes Test series.

In the footage of the incident that is supposed to have been filmed by England’s assistant coach Graham Thorpe. Also, he is clearly heard saying that the video will be only used for the lawyers.

“We’ve got Nathan Lyon, Root, there’s Carey and Anderson. I’ll just video this for the lawyers. See you in the morning, everyone.”

Apart from the meeting at the Hotel Bar, the area of concern for the ECB is how the video leaked to the public domain. The meeting extended till 6 am, however, the players left immediately after police arrived.
