Imad Wasim yet to obtain NOC for T10 League

  • Imad Wasim awaits PCB’s no-objection certificate for Abu Dhabi T10 League participation.
  • Recent controversial remarks and frustration over non-selection add to the uncertainty.
  • Career stats showcase Imad’s cricketing prowess, but his T10 future hangs in the balance.

Pakistani cricket sensation Imad Wasim is facing uncertainties about his participation in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023, set to commence on November 28th, as he is yet to secure a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Initially slated to represent the Deccan Gladiators, the franchise revealed that Imad has not received the NOC, leaving his T10 League future hanging in the balance. The Gladiators’ spokesperson expressed uncertainty, stating,

“He hasn’t got the NOC so far. Let’s see what PCB decides,” as reported by GeoSuper.tv.

Imad Wasim’s recent cricket outings include the T20 International against New Zealand in April 2023 and his last One Day International back in November 2020 versus Zimbabwe. Notably, Imad has been in the spotlight for controversial remarks made on television, touching upon topics like ex-captain Babar Azam and expressing frustration over PCB’s non-selection despite notable performances. His recent stint in the Caribbean Premier League with the Jamaica Tallawahs saw him scoring 43 off 33, albeit in a losing effort during the qualifier 2.

Analyzing Imad Wasim’s career stats, his contributions in both batting and bowling reflect his versatility. In ODIs, he has notched up 986 runs at an average of 42.86, while in T20Is, he boasts 486 runs with a strike rate of 131.70. His bowling figures demonstrate proficiency, with 44 ODI wickets at an average of 44.47 and 65 T20I wickets at an impressive average of 21.78.

The uncertainty surrounding Imad’s participation in the T10 League stems from the delayed issuance of the NOC, contingent upon the return of PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf from the World Cup 2023 in India. With less than a week remaining for the T10 League kickoff, Imad’s cricketing future appears to dangle by a slender thread.

Notably, fellow cricketers Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Haris have recently withdrawn from the T10 League to participate in the National T20 Cup. As the clock ticks down, Imad Wasim awaits a resolution that will determine his involvement in this highly anticipated cricketing event.
