Is it fair enough to suspend Ollie Robinson from all forms of cricket?

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has suspended Ollie Robinson from all forms of cricket on Sunday ahead of his 8-years old sexual and racist tweets getting leaked. England’s first-class right-arm medium-fast bowler’s happiness went in the dungeon as the unexpected event took place on 2nd Day – the day he made his international debut on 2nd June at Lord’s contesting New Zealand on Day 1 of the first Test match.

It seems like that someone has saved the screenshots and waited for Robinson’s biggest day to defame him pulling him out of his success zone. Notably, the 27-year old, when he was 18, posted a few sexist and racist tweets. Although he apologized for the 8-years old actions and told that whatever existed in past, does not match his ‘now’ character. Robinson’s apologies were full of emotions whilst he defined that,

On the biggest day of my career so far, I am embarrassed by the racist and sexist tweets that I posted over eight years ago which have today become public.

I want to make it clear that I’m not racist and I’m not sexist. I deeply regret my actions and I am ashamed of making such remarks.

Opined, what happens in the past, should stay in the past rather than on-screening and judging a person from his 8-years old life. Hence, it was not fair enough to suspend him from all forms of the game. There have been too many similar incidents but the ECB, being strict in their roles, have kicked out the player from all forms of cricket permanently ill-considering his apologies.

He added,

I was thoughtless and irresponsible and, regardless of my state of mind at the time, my actions were inexcusable. Since that period, I have matured as a person and fully regret the tweets. Today should be about my efforts on the field and the pride of making my Test debut for England but my thoughtless behavior in the past has tarnished this. Over the past few years, I have worked hard to turn my life around. I have considerably matured as an adult.
