PCB Invites Departments to Participate in Upcoming Domestic Cricket Season

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reached out to 27 leading departments, inviting them to participate in the upcoming PCB Domestic Cricket Season 2023-24, set to commence in August. The letters were dispatched on behalf of the Chair of the PCB Management Committee, Najam Sethi, in accordance with the PCB Constitution 2014 and at the direction of the PCB’s Patron, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Prime Minister wishes to see the departments play a vital role in the growth and development of Pakistani cricket.

The letters sent by the PCB not only requested the departments to confirm their participation in the upcoming season as soon as possible, to assist in the preparation of the season’s calendar, but also encouraged them to establish strong cricket teams, promising maximum coverage and publicity through traditional and new media channels.

Among the notable departments who have been invited to participate in the PCB Domestic Season 2023 are: Ghani Glass, Income Tax, K-Electric, Karachi Port Trust, Khan Research Laboratory, National Bank of Pakistan, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Omar Associates, Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan International Airlines, Port Qasim Authority, Pakistan Television Corporation, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL).

The PCB has been working to revamp the domestic cricket structure in order to enhance the overall standard of cricket in Pakistan. The inclusion of departments in the domestic cricket season will provide an opportunity for young cricketers to showcase their talent and gain valuable experience. The presence of departments in the domestic cricket scene will also help in the development of a healthy and competitive environment, which is essential for the growth of cricket in the country.

The PCB management committee is confident that the departments will take this opportunity and support the cause of cricket in Pakistan. The PCB is looking forward to a positive response from the departments and is committed to working closely with them to ensure that the upcoming domestic cricket season is a success.
