First-ever ICC Women's FTP to be announced, confirms ICC

Women’s Future Tour Programme (ICC Women’s FTP) has been confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of the International Cricket Council, Geoff Allardice, as the ICC Annual Conference took place on Tuesday.

ICC Women’s FTP is now a reality and is all set to be announced. It has been designed by the member countries and will span three years, from 2022 to 2025.

Geoff was delighted to announce the news and said the fans and broadcasters across the world could be certain of who and when the teams will play next.

“The women’s FTP is going to be published. It’s the first time we have had a long-term plan around a women ‘s series that can give broadcasters and fans a certainty about who is playing who and at what time of the year.

“It is structured around the ICC Women’s Championships through from 2022-25 with a lead up to the next World Cup which will be staged in India.”

He did not disclose much during the meeting but ESPN Cricinfo, one of the cricketing giants, has reported that, “The Teams will play mainly three ODI series which will be part of the Women’s Championships leading towards qualification for the 2025 ODI World Cup. Some countries, where possible, have clubbed a five-match T20I series to round off ODI tours. Teams can also look forward to preparatory matches ahead of the global tournaments.

With the rise of women’s cricket across the world and the keen interest ladies across the world putting in, we are seeing major developments gradually taking place, unlike before.
