Masud Zafar, the CEO of Bank of Punjab, has announced a prize of PKR 10 Million for Lahore Qalandars on winning the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 7).

The CEO of Lahore Qalandars, Atif Rana, signed a deal with Zafar during a ceremony hosted ahead of the PSL 7.

Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan’s former cricketer was also present during the ceremony alongside the management of the Bank of Punjab.

Notably, Qalandars are yet to win the PSL despite years of trying and diverse strategies. The franchise has been trying its luck through different players combinations, captains, and coaches.

For PSL 7, the grey-green team has named Shaheen Shah Afridi as the new skipper. Aqib Javed, the head coach of the side feels fast bowlers can lead the team well. The entire LQ is optimistic about lifting their maiden PSL trophy under Shaheen.

It must be noted that LQ played as a giant during PSL 2020 but lost the final versus Karachi Kings. They failed to bounce back in the next edition.

The CEO of BOP said,

“Lahore Qalandars is not just my favourite team but also of the majority of the cricket fans. It’s not a sponsorship rather it’s a partnership between the two entities with common goals and objectives. To further infuse the interest in the league, new joint products will soon be launched that will be beneficial for both organizations,”

The marquee tournament is set to progress from 27th January and will run till 27th February. The first match is to be played between Karachi Kings and the title defenders, Multan Sultans. The six franchises have already finalized their squads. You can check here.
