Sidra-Muneeba power show registers multiple records

sidra ameen and muneeba ali

Pakistan’s women’s openers Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen came across plenty of records on Friday as Pakistan took on Ireland Women in the first ODI of the three-match series.

They put an intensely solid start to the inning, smashing 107 and 176 runs, respectively, from 114 and 115 balls. The power show helped Pakistan to amass 335 on the loss of three wickets, which also became Pakistan’s highest score in One-Day Internationals.

Not only this, but it was also women in green’s first-ever 300-plus score in the 50-over format. Apart from the team’s record, as far as individual records are concerned, Sidra registered her highest-ever ODI score. She smashed her second ODI century against Sri Lanka earlier this year and came across third on Friday.

She now has the highest score in Women’s ODIs for Pakistan, as Javeriya Khan is next with 133. Also, Muneeba Ali’s 107 was her highest score in the format as she went on to smash her maiden ODI century. She is also the fourth-highest run-scorer in ODIs for Pakistan after Fakhar Zaman, Saeed Anwar, and Fakhar Zaman, respectively.

As a batting duo, the two have also surpassed the record of the highest opening partnership for the country, which was 158 back then, and now have gone past that, amassing 212 runs on the first-wicket partnership.
