Ashes 2021-22: James Anderson ruled out of first Test

England’s experienced pacer, James Anderson has been ruled out of the first Test of the Ashes 2021-2022 series as the team management looks to ease his burden managing his workload to get him all set for the second, Adelaide Test.

Notably, the first Test is set to progress from 8th December, Wednesday, at Gabba in Brisbane.

Following the news, there were rumors that Anderson has been sidelined due to his injury but the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has cleared any such doubts telling Aderson is carrying no injury.

“Jimmy is fit to play, and is not carrying an injury, but with five Tests in six weeks, the plan was to get him ready for the second Test in Adelaide.”

The board has named Chris Woakes in Anderson’s replacement. Woakes, however, could be sidelined in the Adelaide Test on Anderson’s return. Ben Stokes’ return has cherished the surroundings for the English fans. Also, captain Joe Root is excited to see him back after a long gap.

England might also be without their one more paceman, Stuart Broad, but the synopsis is yet to be officialized as either Broad or Jack Leach will be part of the finalized playing XI. Moreover, Johnny Bairstow has been ruled out for Ollie Pope.
