IND vs ENG: Top 6 bowlers to watch out for

IND vs ENG: England team are touring India for a full series of four Test matches, five T20 Internationals and three One Day International matches. With the Test series coming up a couple of days, we look at the top players from each side before the series begins.

Both India and England have produced world-class players over the years, such as India’s Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and England’s Ian Botham, Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, Alastair Cook, Matthew Hoggard, Graeme Swann etc.

Now, we take a look at top six bowlers, three each from both sides, that will need to watch out for in this highly anticipated series.

1. Jasprit Bumrah

India’s main pace bowler and the leader of the bowling attack, Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of Australia Test mid-way after he suffered injury. Now coming back to yet another series against England, he will be looking to make his return a sweet one. Especially when WTC final is on the line.

2. James Anderson

England’s highest wicket-taker who is fourth in the list for most Test wickets, James Anderson has been very good lately. In fact, the more he grows the better he gets. He had a great series in Sri Lanka and now will be looking to perform in the bigger series. Leader of his side’s pace attack, James will lead England against one of the best batting sides in the world.

3. Ravichandran Ashwin

You could talk about having Axar Patel or Kuldeep Yadav in the side, but Ravi Ashwin is always will be the main threat for any opposition. Especially when the series is in home of India. With 377 wickets and still so much to offer, Ashwin will be looking at this series and take this opportunity to come close to 400 mark.

4. Jack Leach

It’s not Moeen Ali or Dominic Bess. But it is the left-arm off-spinner Jack Leach who has been the talk of England spinners lately. He was more consistent and accurate when he was bowling in Sri Lanka and many believed that Jack Leach will be that “X” factor for England that will help his side to beat India.

5. Ishant Sharma

Perhaps the most improved bowler of all, Ishant Sharma will be making his comeback to the national side after he was left out of Australia series due to injury. The tall fast bowler will be itching to go and bowl for his side and lead them to victory.

6. Stuart Broad

James Anderson’s deputy in the pace attack, Stuart Broad himself has been bowling well. With his ability to bring the ball swing away late troubles the batsmen so much. He loves bowling to India, but his record within India isn’t great, averaging 53. Despite his record, he will still be a threat, especially with the older ball.
