“The ICC Board has requested management focus its planning efforts for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 on the event being staged in the UAE with the possibility of including another venue in the Middle East,” ICC said in its press release.

One of the ICC officials uttered that the BCCI will remain the original host of the event despite its transit to any other place because of the COVID threats in India. Moreover, the global council has extended the deadline for India to take the final decisions on logistical issues regarding hosting the extravaganza.

“The Board also confirmed that the BCCI will remain the hosts of the event regardless of where the event is played.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the event is most likely to kick off this October and might be a multinational tournament (getting hosted in more than one country).
